What Goes Into Certification
Not every pre-owned BMW makes the cut. Before you ever see it, your vehicle has to meet BMW’s eligibility requirements: a late-model BMW generally needs more than 300 miles but fewer than 60,000 on the odometer, along with a clean maintenance and vehicle history.
From there, BMW-trained technicians give it a detailed inspection covering mechanical systems, brakes, tires, safety equipment, and overall condition, plus diagnostic testing and a road test. If something doesn’t meet BMW’s standard, it gets fixed before you ever take delivery. If it can’t be fixed, it doesn’t earn Certified status, period.
